Project Experience |
| Over the last seven years, SSTT has completed over seventy-five (75) soil treatment projects. Projects have included treatment of urban fill in downtown areas, lead-impacted-soil under roadway construction, from firing ranges and automobile shredders, and from abandoned mine tailings and contaminated coastal sediments. Significant project examples are provided below: |
Ore Hill Mine Site Restoration |
| U. S. Forest Service/Environmental Contractors, Inc. Warren, New Hampshire |
| Soil Solutions was contracted to work on the CERCLA Non-Time Critical Removal Action performed by the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) at the Ore Mine Site in Warren, NH. The project included stabilization design and pilot testing, and the excavation and ex-situ treatment of 50,400 tons of zinc- and lead-impacted mine tailings using patented dry treatment reagents. |

Weymouth Neck Project |
| ConocoPhillips/URS/Clean Harbors,
South Weymouth, Massachusetts |
| SSTT provided stabilization recipe design, pilot testing, field supervisor and reagent procurement for the in-situ treatment and processing of arsenic- and lead-bearing soil at the Weymouth Neck Project. The stabilized soils were tested by both TCLP and SPLP methods, and the treated soil passed MA GW-3 groundwater standards and RCRA TCLP levels for on-site reuse. |

Settling Lagoon
Stabilization/Solidification |
| American Optical Corp., Southbridge, Massachusetts |
| Soil Solutions was contracted for the solidification/stabilization of the settling lagoons at the American Optical facility in Southbridge, MA. The remediation included stabilization design and testing, the treatment of lead-impacted lagoon sediments, and the solidification of the treated material for use as pavement base. |

Lansdowne Street Housing Project |
| Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, Massachusetts |
| Soil Solutions was contracted to provide a patented and cost effective in-situ chemical fixation for TCLP Lead-impacted soils at the site. The scope of the project included: bench-scale testing to determine the appropriate reagent and dose, mobilization of specialized chemical process equipment, application of the patented stabilizers. |

Route 146 Extension Project |
| Massachusetts Highway Department,
Worcester, Massachusetts |
| During the extension of Route 146 in Worcester, the Massachusetts Highway Department contracted Soil Solutions to perform ex-situ chemical fixation for lead-impacted soils. |
Boston Convention Center |
| Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA), South Boston, Massachusetts |
| The Boston Redevelopment Authority contracted with Soil Solutions for the remediation of a former scrap yard during the construction of the convention center. The RCRA/TSCA waste required two forms of treatment: thermal desorption to reduce the PCBs to less than 2 ppm and chemical
stabilization to reduce TCLP Lead to less than 5.0 mg/l. |
