Soil Solutions HMR was contracted for the remediation of Lead impacted sediments in a settling lagoon at the American Optical facility in Southbridge, MA.

The remediation included treatment design and testing, the treatment of lead-impacted lagoon sediments, and the solidification of the treated material for use as a pavement base.

Soil Solutions and their subcontractors conducted both in-situ and ex-situ treatment for 8,000 tons of lead impacted sludge using proprietary liquid and dry treatment reagents.

The material was reused on-site and treatment standards for lead were set at 0.75 mg/l by TCLP analysis.

Soil Solutions also operated extensive dewatering systems during the project and completed site restoration activities.
